This podcast is well worth the listen if you want to explore mindfulness. Ellen Langer argues that you can do anything mindlessly, even things like yoga and meditation that are supposed to increase mindfulness. In her view, all you need to be mindful is to notice, for example, 5 new things today about someone you live or work with. When you use mindfulness as a tool in your life, you realize you can live your life being aware that there are many possible ways to exist in any situation. Sometimes just changing a word you use in how you think about what you’re doing also changes your outlook, your health and your entire experience of that experience.
